As a reminder, cold outreach (or cold reachouts) is 1-to-1 communication with an audience that doesn’t know us (cold audience).

This type of marketing can be seen as private one-to-one advertising.

Simply put, it is communication with our leads via e-mail, phone calls, direct messages, SMS, voice messages, etc.

The advantage of this method is that it is almost unaffected by changes in platforms or their algorithms.

On top of that, it allows us to fly under the radar, as our competitors have no idea what’s going on in private communication channels.

Warning.

There’s an essential difference with warm outreach.

Here, it’s “stranger danger.“

The people we contact don’t know us, so they don’t trust us.

This poses our three initial problems:

  1. Since people don’t know us, by default, we have no way of contacting them.
  2. Even if we find a way to reach them, they’ll ignore us by default.
  3. Even if we manage to get their attention, chances are they won’t be interested in what we have to offer.

For us, a problem is good news.

Identifying a problem means having an opportunity to find solutions to solve it.

Let’s start solving problems.

Building a list.
